THIRDGEN AUDIO INFORMATION

Overview

I don't really have a stereo system in my Camaro, but I used to, so I know a little about the stereo systems in Thirdgens.  The stock stereos aren't that good, and chances are they are original, and pretty old.

Stereo

The first thing that most people do is to add a CD player.  There are a lot of options available, and just about any CD player that you find will fit into the dash of a Thirdgen.  The larger (1.5 DIN) size CD players fit good, because they are closer to the size of the original GM stereos.  When you use the traditional size (DIN) you have to get an adaptor kit that will allow you to install a smaller deck into the large hole you have to fill.

Rear Speakers

The rear speakers in a Thirdgen are in the B-Pillar (the area between the hatch glass and the door glass).
